On the road to the Sustainability Market in North Center

Look out, North Side, here we come! Bubbly Dynamics will be popping up at Reduce Waste Chicago’s Sustainability Market to rep The Plant and the business community here. This event takes place at 4100 N. Damen (North Center Town Square) on Sun. Sept. 18 at 9am-1pm.

The theme for this month’s market is Textile Therapy, so along with their usual textile drop-off table, a team of textile experts will help you manage mending, storage, or disposal issues. They’ll be joined by a solid lineup of retail vendors, artists, and exhibitors focused on environmental sustainability. We’ll be offering samples of products made and grown at The Plant and discussing our many projects here that reimagine waste as a resource. And in case you can’t wait for Reuse-a-Palooza, this is a great opportunity to drop off those tricky-to-recycle common household items that aren’t accepted by the City’s Blue Cart program.

Over at The Plant, the regular Sunday program is on as usual, plus free community yoga!

noon - Yoga in the Winter Garden
1-8pm - Whiner’s taproom hours
2pm - Tour of The Plant
3pm - Tour of the brewery

Welcome to EMBODIED, a summer-long movement series designed to bridge the mind-body-spirit connection for the purpose of becoming a more embodied and spirited human being! Very Human Social invites you to move freely, breathe intentionally, and explore what it means to fully inhabit the body. Classes will be taught and led by some of Chicago’s most talented and inspiring BIPOC wellness leaders. Please register in advance here and join us at noon in the Winter Garden on the 3rd floor. Afterward, enjoy a discounted beer in Whiner’s taproom, or a discounted Kombuchade at the Turtle Stop.

Tours of The Plant take place at 2pm; meet in lobby. Take a behind-the-scenes tour from the perspective of the founder and the design team behind The Plant. Come learn about Bubbly Dynamics’ creative approaches to reimagine what is conventionally considered "waste" as a valuable asset and see how tenant businesses collaborate and create amazing food products while striving to increase efficiencies of all types. Tour size is limited so please consider purchasing tickets in advance.

Then join into a free tour of Whiner Beer Company’s brewery, led by the brewers themselves; just meet in the lobby at 3pm if you’re only angling for the brewery tour.

Taproom is open til 8pm, and pizza kitchen will be slinging pies until 7pm.
