Nicola Twilley presents Frostbite: How Refrigeration Changed Our Food, Our Planet, and Ourselves

Join us in The Packingtown Museum for a conversation with New Yorker contributor and cohost of the award-winning podcast Gastropod, Nicola Twilley!

Nicola’s recent book, Frostbite, is an engaging and far-reaching exploration of refrigeration, tracing its evolution from scientific mystery to globe-spanning infrastructure, and an essential investigation into how it has remade our entire relationship with food—for better and for worse. A deeply researched and reported, original, and entertaining dive into the most important invention in the history of food and drink, Frostbite makes the case for a recalibration of our relationship with the fridge—and how our future might depend on it.

Nicola will be joined by Packingtown Museum Curator, Dominic Pacyga, and Pilsen Community Books.

For those interested in taking a behind the scenes look at The Plant before the book event, John Edel, Founder and Director of Bubbly Dynamics, will be giving a tour of the building at 5:30pm. For tickets and more information about the tour, click here!
